William Hill are in fear of a Tiger Woods victory at Augusta in the first major of the year and currently rate him as their 11/10 favourite to win another green jacket.
"It is a simple equation, if Woods wins we lose and vice versa. The Masters is our second biggest tournament of the year after the Open and we expect around £20 million to be gambled on the event," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams
Hills have also seen money for Vijay Singh including a £4,000 bet at 25/1 and he is now 16/1 to win. The best priced Europeans are Harrington at 25/1 and Rose at 33/1.
Tiger Woods is an astonishing 8/1, from an opening 50/1, to win the Major Grand Slam in 2008, a feat that will cost the bookies an eight figure sum. "For years the best golfer in the world was quoted at 8/1 to win one major and it is a sign of Tiger's dominance that he is the same price to win all four," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
