Peter Lawrie was backed at [100.0] on Betfair to land the Open De Espana, which he took in an enthralling play-off against Ignacio Garrido today.
Longtime leader Garrido (backed at a high of [450.0]) was matched at a low of [1.27] at the first play-off hole before his Irish opponent rolled in a 25 foot putt to force a second hole. The Spaniard then found water while Lawrie made par after playing onto the green from a fairway bunker.
