A short, hilly, parkland course, with the holes either being tree-lined or very exposed, which makes it a very difficult test in windy conditions. The fairways are narrower than average and sloping, leading to undulating poa annua greens. There are just three par-5’s - the 7th, 9th (the easiest) and 14th - the latter being extremely difficult if the wind is blowing.
The course is host to the Aa St Omer Open, a co-sanctioned event on the European and Challenge Tours. As it is played in the same week as the US Open, the field is comprised of lesser known players.
