National Course, Abu Dhabi Golf Club
Course Par Value: 72
Course Yardage: 7,348
A generally flat course with average width fairways leading to immaculate bermuda tifdwarf greens which are fast and have subtle contours. With seven lakes on the course, water comes into play on half of the holes, including five of the last seven. The wind can be a factor, especially on the more exposed front nine, which plays tougher than the back nine. The four par-5’s are the 2nd, 8th, 10th and 18th.
The course is host to the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, the start of the “Middle East Swing”, which lasts for three weeks beginning in January.
Bettingpro Notes: The course was first used for a European Tour event in 2006 but already it’s clear that GIR is the key to victory here and far more important than driving distance.
