The European Tour rolls into Paris this week for the Alstom Open de France at Le Golf National, the site of the 2018 Ryder Cup.
The world’s top three – Luke Donald, Lee Westwood and Rory McIlroy – are once again absent, meaning Germany’s Martin Kaymer is the highest ranked player competing at this competition.
The 26-year-old, ranked fourth in the world, will be looking to put last week’s disappointment on home soil behind him and he is the 10/1 favourite with a host of bookmakers, including
bet365, to leave France with his second victory of the year.
Spanish interest is once again strong and Pablo Larrazabal, who beat fellow countryman Sergio Garcia in a play-off at last week’s BMW International Open, can be backed at 30/1 with
Betfred to win back-to-back tournaments. He is joined at Le Golf National by Dubai Desert Classic winner Alvaro Quiros (25/1
Boylesports) and defending Open de France champion Miguel Angel Jimenez (45/1 Betfred).
Sweden’s Peter Hanson, a four-time winner on the tour, is 16/1 with
Paddy Power, while Italian pair Matteo Manassero and Francesco Molinari are 20/1 and 22/1 respectively with bet365. And Bubba Watson will continue his preparations for next month’s Open Championship by flying out to Europe early to compete in this tournament, with the 32-year-old American available at 25/1 with
SkyBet.
Alexander Noren and Robert Rock are recent winners on this tour, and the Saab Wales Open winner and BMW Italian Open winner are 50/1 (
StanJames) and 55/1 (Betfred) respectively.
Victor Chandler are continuing their “Hole-in-won” promotion, which has now paid out 24 times this season. All you need to do is have a bet on a player to win the Alstom Open de France – win or each-way – and if your selection loses but has a hole-in-one during the tournament, Victor Chandler will pay you out as a winner.
Featuring in the field is a number of players who have already cost the bookmakers this season. They are (*) Alvaro Quiros (25/1), Raphael Jacquelin (66/1), David Horsey (66/1), David Howell (150/1), Keith Horne (200/1), Maarten Lafeber (200/1), Rafa Echenique (200/1), Dixon (300/1) and Mark Brown (400/1).
* All odds Victor Chandler.
