Englishman Mark Foster will take a two-stroke lead into the final round of the BMW International Open in Munich.
Foster, who hails from the same town as world number two Lee Westwood, shot a six-under-par 66 on Saturday to surge to 14-under through 56 holes, but he has a group of players hot on his tail on 12-under.
The 35-year-old, whose previous European Tour win came eight years ago, made seven birdies and just one bogey, at the par-four 10th, to end the day two shots ahead of Sergio Garcia, Robert Coles, Retief Goosen, Pablo Larrazabal and George Coetzee.
Garcia, bidding to end a near-three-year European Tour title drought, was in sensational form on Saturday with nine birdies and just one bogey in a superb eight-under-par 64 while Retief Goosen kept himself in contention with four birdies and an eagle, plus one bogey, in a five-under-par 67.
Marcel Siem continues to be Germany’s best hope for a home winner after a one-under-par 71 saw him improve to eight-under, but world number three Martin Kaymer will be playing for little more than pride on Sunday after shooting an even-par 72 to remain six-under.
