The second round of the Barclays Scottish Open has been suspended until Sunday following more bad weather in Inverness.
Lightning had forced the suspension of play on Friday, leaving a number of players unable to complete their second round at Castle Stuart Golf Links.
Officials had been hopeful of finally resuming play at 19:00 BST on Saturday but, after more rain, they were forced to cancel the day’s play because there was too much water on the course.
Tournament Director for The European Tour Mike Stewart said: “We tried very hard.
“We were desperate to get out and play and we knew we had this weather window this evening when it was going to be dry and bright when we could possibly have got some play in.
“But unfortunately, despite all the efforts of all the guys on the golf course, we just couldn’t quite get the course playable.
“It was a shame because they made such an effort and we were hoping that if we got everybody in position then we could start, but we never quite got there. “
Graeme McDowell, Scott Jamieson and Peter Whiteford are tied for the clubhouse lead on 11-under, with all three men having completed their second round on Friday.
