Italian Francesco Molinari is one shot ahead of the field ahead of the final round of the 2012 Scottish Open and is the favourite to claim the title at Castle Stuart Golf Club.

Francesco Molinari is the 2/1 favourite at Sporting Bet to win the 2012 Scottish Open after cementing his position at the top of the leaderboard with a 67 on Saturday.

Anders Hansen is a shot behind the Italian on 16 under par and can be backed at 11/2 with the same firm with fellow Dane Sore Kjeldsen a further stroke behind his compatriot.

Big guns Luke Donald and Phil Mickelson are on 13 and 14 under respectively and their names are likely to dominate the leaderboard on Sunday afternoon and the feeling in Inverness is that whoever beats the current and former world number one will win at Castle Stuart. Donald is 14/1 at bet365 to claim the Scottish Open title with Mickelson an 8/1 shot at Coral.

There are, however, several home players still in contention with Marc Warren just two shots behind Molinari with Martin Laird and Peter Whiteford both a further one shot behind the leader. They are sure to be well supported throughout Sunday by a passionate Scottish crowd.

"It was great," said Laird. "It seemed like every birdie I made I picked up a few more people and it was great to hear them willing you on."
