The 2012 Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles is the last European Tour event before the Ryder Cup team is named - and favourite Francesco Molinari starts his victory bid at 13:15 BST in the first round on Thursday.

The Italian will play in the same group as the only other man in the field who has secured his place in the European Ryder Cup team, Paul Lawrie, with Simon Dyson completing the three-ball.

Molinari is a best-priced 11/1 at BetVictor to win the Johnnie Walker Championship, while Lawrie can be backed at 25/1 and Dyson 28/1 with the same bookmaker.

Nicolas Colsaerts can knock Martin Kaymer out of the top 10 in the Ryder Cup points table to qualify automatically for the team with a top-two finish at Gleneagles and the Belgian tees off at 08:15 BST with Thomas Bjorn and Stephen Gallacher.
