Loch Lomond, Scotland
Course Par Value: 71
Course Yardage: 7,139
Situated on the banks of Loch Lomond, this Tom Weiskopf-designed course has generously wide fairways and gives players the opportunity to set up birdie / eagle chances with accurate iron play. The immaculate greens are bent / poa grass. There are only three par-5’s - the 3rd, 6th (625 yards) and the 13th - and two driveable par-4’s - the 9th at 340 yards and the 14th at 371 yards. In calm conditions, birdies are easy to find but, if the wind blows, it can be a difficult track.
The course at Loch Lomond is host to the Scottish Open, traditionally played the week before the British Open.
GolfBettingpro Notes: This is definitely a course specialists track on which accurate iron play is the key, so the GIR stats are of particular significance here. Players can come from well off the pace to win (final round 64‘s or better are common), so in-running punters should be wary of concentrating on the top of the leaderboard on Sunday morning.
