World number one Lee Westwood made it through to the last 16 Volvo Match Play Championship campaign thanks to a 4&3 win over Aaron Baddeley on Friday.
The Englishman, who defeated Anders Hansen of Denmark in his first group game on Thursday, shot eight birdies to see off the Australian who also qualifies thanks to his win over Hansen in Friday’s morning session.
World number two Luke Donald also made it through to the last 16 with a 100 per cent record thanks to a 3&1 win over fellow Ryder Cup star Ross Fisher at the Finca Cortesin GC in Andalucia, Spain.
European Ryder Cup star Ian Poulter qualified for the last 16 without winning a single match. The Englishman halved both his group games against Francesco Molinari and Paul Lawrie, but he managed to go through after Molinari defeated Lawrie 3&2 to knock the Scot out.
