Ernie Els is the new 12/1 favourite at Ladbrokes for the 137th Open following the dramatic withdrawal of Tiger Woods
The Big Easy tied for fourth last year and has been cut from 16/1. He heads the betting from Spain's Sergio Garcia, who finished runner-up at Carnoustie after a three hole play-off.
Garcia is 14/1 from 20/1 with last year's winner Padraig Harrington 16/1 from 25/1 alongside American Phil Mickelson.
Lefty has been the subject of the biggest bet to date on the tournament, a £20,000 punt at 20/1/ which Ladbrokes laid to a London-based punter in April.
Lee Westwood is the first Briton in the betting at 20/1 after his impressive display at the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines last weekend.
Ladbrokes spokesman Robin Hutchison said: "A number of players have been cut following Woods' withdrawal, but there's still huge value to be had on the others. It's a very open Open."
