Tiger Trouble For Ante Post Punters?

James Cameron - 16 Apr 2008

Ante Post golf punters will be nervous after hearing that Tiger Woods has had surgery on his knee. Even at this early stage William Hill alone have Tiger for a six figure sum for the US Open and nearly half a million on him winning the final three majors. "Tiger is expected to be back in action for the US Open but punters will be sweating as they have gone after him big time for the event, as Torrey Pines is one of his most successful venues," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.

Hills currently offer 6/5 for a Woods victory at the US Open and offer 10/1 Mickleson with the European contenders headed by Harrington at 20/1, Westwood and Rose at 33/1. "We have not yet pushed out Tigers price as we a defending a considerable liability and are happy to lay the other contenders at prices that might now seem good value," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.

Tiger is out to 8/1 to win the remaining three majors of the year, 11/8 to win one, 9/4 to fail to win any and 5/2 to win two
