After another day of frantic betting on the Open Championship, bookmakers William Hill have revised their estimates of industry turnover upwards from £30 Million to £35 Million with all the top thirty players in the betting being well supported.
The best supported players have been Miguel Jimenez, who has been backed in from 66/1 to 20/1 and Sergio Garcia who is currently 10/1. "We expected our volume of bets to increase in the absence of Tiger but were not sure if turnover would be down, but as it stands both volume and turnover are up and we have revised our estimates of industry turnover upwards to £35 Million," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.

Hills expect defending champion Padraig Harrington to be feeling the pressure and have opened a book on his first hole score. He is 14/1 to hit his drive out of bounds, 4/1 to get a birdie, 8/13 a par and 7/2 that he gets a birdie.
