Henrik Stenson is the 7/2 favourite to win the BMW International Open after reaching the halfway point with a share of the lead.
The 35-year-old Swede, a former world number four who crashed out of the top 100 after a slump in form, followed up his superb opening-round 64 with a two-under-par 70 on Friday to improve to 10-under through 36 holes. And for that reason
bet365 make him the favourite heading into the weekend.
George Coetzee joined him on 10-under with a second-round 67, but the bookmakers are unconvinced by the South African and
Boylesports are offering odds of 11/1 on him.
Pablo Larrazabal is alone in second place on nine-under after shooting a bogey-free 67 that featured an eagle at the 16th, and the Spaniard is available at a best-price 13/2 with
Betfred. His fellow countrymen Sergio Garcia, four-under, and Miguel Angel Jimenez, three-under, are 50/1 (
SportingBet) and 125/1 (
SkyBet) respectively.
Home hope Martin Kaymer was the bookies’ pre-tournament favourite and having shot three-under through his opening 36 holes, the German world number three is now 9/1 with SkyBet. Marcel Siem is leading the way for the home contingent on seven-under and he is 40/1 with the same firm.
Retief Goosen, on seven-under, is available at 11/1 (Boylesports) and Francesco Molinari, on five-under, is now 33/1 (
Paddy Power), while Dustin Johnson, making a rare appearance on the European Tour, can be backed for his maiden title at 50/1 (bet365) after reaching the midway point at three-under.
