The Englishman lived up to his name at last week's Wales Open, playing some solid golf for a share of fourth place and landing us the place part of our each-way bet - hope you were on at 80/1! That effort was following on from a fifth place in Madrid so it's safe to say he's in great form and, with no real course form to go on this week, that's as good a pointer as any. The bookmakers have cottoned on to this of course but 20/1 is still a fair price given the opposition is not of the standard he has been facing.
Bradley Dredge @ 33/1 bet365
After a disappointing campaign so far, the Welshman is at last showing signs of a return to top form and his odds might not reflect his chance. Certainly, last week's tie for 18th as a much better effort and he followed that up with a second-round 65 in Monday's Open qualifier to book his place at next month's St Andrews showpiece. As a result, he'll be exuding confidence and this represents a good chance to keep the momentum going.
Pelle Edberg @ 55/1 Coral
The Swede has been playing some nice golf in recent weeks, finishing fifth in Majorca and 13th in Madeira on a course not too dissimilar to this one. Deceptively long off the tee (5th in the Driving Distance stats) and a decent putter to boot (4th in Putts Per GIR), if he can produce anything like his recent form he must be thereabouts come Sunday afternoon.
Bubbling Under: Tano Goya (100/1 Boylesports)
Form has dipped since a tie for 9th at the Ballantine's Championship in April but, like Dredge, he made it through Open qualifying (66-67) and on a course he should thrive on, another top-10 finish at 20/1 (Boylesports) would not surprise.
Punters Beware: Chris Wood
Assumes market leadership this week after contending well at Wentworth and Celtic Manor but he's finished poorly both times and could be in need of a break.
