The bookmakers are split on who will win this week’s HP Byron Nelson Championship in Irving, Texas.
With the big guns like Phil Mickelson sitting this one out, it is another chance for some of the tour’s less heralded players to make a mark and clinch a PGA Tour title.
There are several players that can be backed at 16/1, with
bwin backing Dustin Johnson,
bet365 going with Jason Day and
totesport opting for Nick Watney.
Players Championship winner KJ Choi is 20/1 (
SportingBet) to claim his second victory of the month, with Matt Kuchar at 22/1 with
Paddy Power.
Boylesports, meanwhile, have priced both Rory Sabbatini and Brian Gay at 25/1.
2004 winner Sergio Garcia can be backed at 30/1 with bet365 but it may be worth leaving it late if you fancy the Spaniard to leave TPC Four Seasons Resort with the title for a second time. The Spaniard is struggling to overcome an infected fingernail in time to play, posting on Twitter: “Finger is not feeling great yet. Hoping I’ll be better by (Thursday). I’ll keep you posted.”
Former world number one Vijay Singh is bidding to return to the Official Golf World Rankings’ top-50, and he is 80/1 (
SkyBet) to achieve that by winning this tournament.

Victor Chandler’s “hole-in-won” offer before you place your bet. All you need to do is have a bet on a player to win the BMW PGA Championship outright – win or each-way – and if your selection loses but has a hole-in-one, Victor Chandler will pay you out as a winner.
There are a number of players competing that have already made a hole-in-one this year, with Nick O’Hern 125/1, Sung-Hoon Kang 150/1, Cameron Tringale 150/1, Scott Stallings 250/1, Jared Lyle 300/1 and Daniel Summerhays 500/1.
