Bookies William have slashed the price of Rory Mcllroy winning the Irish Open from 5/1 to 7/2 following massive support this morning including a monster £50,000 bet placed in a William Hill shop in Northern Ireland.
If Rory comes up trumps, the lucky punter will collect a massive £300,000. Harrington & McDowell are offered at 16/1 with Darren Clarke offered at 25/1.
"Rory looked untouchable at the US Open and with the weather forecast looking fair you can see why punters are prepared to risk hugh sums," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
