This is the second leg of the Fall Series end-of-season tournaments for the Tour's lesser lights, many of whom need a good finish or two to guarantee their cards for next season.
The Course: Atunyote GC at Turning Stone, Verona, NY (par-72, 7,482 yards)
A newish Tom Fazio layout (opened in 2004), set in gently rolling hills. It has plenty of water hazards, the largest expanse covering three holes, including the dramatic 598-yard 18th, which is easily the longest of the four par-5's. The fairways are generous and the greens large.
Ross' Top Tip: Steve Flesch @ 33/1 Boylesports
Flesch is the defending champion this week so he's obviously happy on the course and comes into the event in good form having finished tied-15th in his last event. He also managed to finish in the top-10 in two of this year's Majors - fifth in the Masters and sixth in the USPGA - which should give him plenty of confidence in this modest field - bet365's 18/1 favourite Robert Allenby hasn't won on Tour for seven years!. Quotes of 33/1 are generous.
Next Best: Tim Herron @ 55/1 Skybet
Lumpy Herron is languishing down in 126th place in the Tour's Driving Accuracy stats, so he will appreciate this week's wide fairways, and he rates an excellent each way shot on his recent form. After finishing fifth in the Deutsche Bank Championship (his first top-10 of the year), he was heading for another big finish in the BMW next time out only to drop to 38th place after a closing 75. So, back him now and be ready to trade out on Sunday in case he lets you down.
Outsider: Parker McLachlin @ 80/1 Paddy Power
When Steve Flesch wrapped this up 12 months ago, it was his second win in two months. The first had come in the Reno-Tahoe Open and, this year, McLachlin will be bidding to follow suit, having romped to a maiden success in Reno. True, he's missed three cuts since, but they were in much better company (one was in the USPGA) and, having finished fifth at Turning Stone last year, he can go close again.
Tournament Lay (Betfair): Sean O'Hair
O'Hair's one of the few class acts this week, hence the quotes of around 20/1, but he's missed his last two cuts and disappoints more than not.
Tournament Match Bet: Dudley Hart to beat Sean O'Hair @ 10/11 Ladbrokes
