Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods will compete in this week’s Abu Dhabi Championship, but BetVictor do not fancy their chances of winning.
McIlroy has been pushed out to 15/2 (from 13/2) and Tiger Woods to 9/1 (from 17/2) ahead of Thursday’s first round.
BetVictor spokesperson Charlie McCann told Bettingpro.com: “In their first tournament of the year we aren't convinced either Rory McIlroy or Tiger Woods will have their game finely tuned to make a winning start to 2012.
“Although the course should suit both, we know it is ideal for our favourite Martin Kaymer who is looking for a fourth title in five years.
“Who knows if the pairing of Woods and McIlroy with Luke Donald will spur each other on, but McIlroy was ill towards the end of 2011 and we believe that more Major Titles and thus peaking at Augusta in the spring is the goal the pair will be aiming for in the first few months.”
