The Northern Irishman (11/3 Tournament Winner) reeled off seven birdies in a flawless bogey-free display on Friday, improving his total 13-under where he is joined by Thomas Bjorn (7/2). The Dane was completed his second round without any blemishes, making five birdies in another solid display at Emirates Golf Club.

Overnight leader Rafael Cabrera-Bello (14/1) leads the chasing pack after his second-round 69 took him to 12-under, while Martin Kaymer (6/1), Gregory Bourdy (25/1) and Scott Jamieson (25/1) are all one shot further back. Kaymer ensured he would take some of the headlines in round two, sinking a hole-in-one at the par-three seventh in a round of 67.

Former world number one Lee Westwood (7/1) enjoyed a good day as his seven-under-par 65 saw him surge up the leaderboard to 10-under, where he is joined by Stephen Gallacher (33/1) and Marcel Siem (40/1). George Coetzee (25/1) is alone on nine-under after carding a 66 round on Friday, with Tano Goya (100/1) and Henrik Stenson (66/1) a shot further back.
