The 2012 US PGA Championship at Kiawah Island in South Carolina was won by Rory McIlroy, who produced a truly dominant display in the final round to clinch an eight-shot triumph.

The 23-year-old from Northern Ireland raced ahead of his rivals when the third round was completed on Sunday morning after a weather delay the previous evening and apart from an early surge by Ian Poulter, never looked like letting his advantage slip.

Poulter produced a storming start with five birdies on the first five holes to close to within one of McIlroy, but could not sustain his challenge and ultimately fell away to finish tied for third with Carl Pettersson, Justin Rose and Keegan Bradley.

Runner-up was David Lynn, making it five Europeans in the top six as the Englishman put up a superb debut performance in America.

But it was all about McIlroy, who was winning his second Major title and is a best-priced 7/1 with BetVictor to make it three in the 2013 Masters at Augusta.
