A Jack Nicklaus-designed course with plenty of water and some large, undulating bentgrass greens. Even so, it causes the pros few problems and low scores are common. The 5th hole is the easiest of the par-5’s, but all are reachable in two (the others are the 7th,11th and 18th). The most difficult hole is the par-4 14th which has out-of-bounds down the left-hand side of the fairway and a creek on two sides of the green.
Starting in 2007, the course is the venue for the Viking Championship, a new PGA Tour event, and the second of the seven Fall Series (also known as the "Quest for the Card") events. It will be played in the same week as the Presidents Cup, so most of the top Tour players will be engaged there instead.
