Colonial Country Club Golf Course Guide and Betting Tips

Ross Aylward - 16 Jan 2008

Colonial Country Club, Fort Worth, TX
Course Par Value: 70
Course Yardage: 7,054

Colonial is a tight track with small, bentgrass greens. It rewards accuracy off the tee and fairways.

It has just two par-5’s, the 1st and 11th. The three hardest holes are known as the ‘Horrible Horseshoe’.

They are the dog-leg 3rd, the 252 yard par-3 4th and the demanding 5th, which has a ditch to the left of the fairway and a river to the right, so the tee shot must be precise.

“It’s a ball-striker’s course. It’s one of the finest classic courses we’ll ever play.” – Lanny Wadkins.

The course has a long association with the PGA Tour. The Bank of America Colonial was inaugurated in 1946 and has been played at the course ever since, changing it’s name to the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial for 2007.

Golf Betting Pro Notes: When betting in-play, note that the two closing par-4’s offer excellent birdie chances.
