“Hogan’s Alley” is a classic, traditional course. Not a long track by any means, but players need to show some imagination off the tee. Players who can shape tee shots do better than those who just ‘grip it and rip it’. There is also some creative bunkering to contend with too, including one in the middle of the 6th green! The greens are bentgrass with subtle contours.
The prestigious Riviera course has hosted the Nissan Open (formerly Los Angeles Open) since 1926, except from two occasions when it was being prepared for majors.
Golf Betting Pro Notes: As Riviera is a shot-maker’s course, look to back experienced players who like to plot their way around rather than one-dimensional long hitters.
