TPC River Highlands Golf Course Guide and Betting tips

Ross Aylward - 16 Jan 2008

TPC at River Highlands, Cromwell, CT
Course Par Value: 70
Course Yardage: 6,820

The TPC River Highlands was the third PGA Tour owned / managed championship golf course in what is now a network of  25 TPC Clubs in 10 states. Its main characteristic is its greens, which are smaller than average and are shaped like upturned saucers. This makes scrambling and putting from the fringe extremely difficult.

In other respects, it’s fairly straightforward (for the pros anyhow!) although there are only two par-5’s – the 6th and 13th. The par-4 15th (296 yards) is driveable, although making par can be tough if you miss the green.

The Travelers Championship has been held on the course since 1991. Its sponsor and position in the calendar have varied but, in 2007, the event was played the week after the US Open in late June.

Golf Betting Pro Notes: With only eight par-5’s, the long hitters advantage isn’t as great here as at many courses.
