TPC at Summerlin, Las Vegas, NV
Course Par Value: 72
Course Yardage: 7,243
Starting in 2007, the final two rounds of the Frys.com Open will be played exclusively at the TPC Summerlin course - TPC at The Canyons* is also used for the first two rounds. As a stadium course, the TPC Summerlin was built to accommodate golfing fans with unrestricted views of tee shots, fairway approaches and putting through strategically placed spectator mounds and natural amphitheatres. As the course is at altitude, it doesn’t really play to its full yardage, which means scoring is generally low. The bentgrass greens are larger than average. The par-5’s are the 3rd, 9th, 13th and 16th.
*TPC at The Canyons is a short track of 7,019 yards (par-70). It has just three par-5’s – the 4th, 6th and 15th.
The Frys.com Open is a new PGA Tour event for 2007 and is part of the ‘Fall Finish’
.
Golf Bettingpro Notes: The TPC at Summerlin is a catch-up course. The winner nearly always shoots low in the final round, while the overnight leader ‘blows it’ by shooting 70 or more. Bear this in mind when betting in-play.
