TPC of Boston, Norton, MA
Course Par Value: 71
Course Yardage: 7,415
The Arnold Palmer-designed TPC of Boston opened in 2002. The course is characterised by several ‘forced carries’ over water and wetlands. There are just three par-5’s: the 2nd, which has water in front of the green; the 600 yard 7th; and the excellent closing hole, which offers eagles and disasters in equal measure. The bentgrass greens are a little above average in size. The course favours power over accuracy.
The TPC of Boston has been the venue for the Deutsche Bank Championship since 2003. The event was conceived to be played over the Labor Day weekend, so runs Friday to Monday. Tiger Woods’ foundation is the charity beneficiary, so he’s closely associated with the event.
Golf Betting Pro Notes: This is very much a long-hitter’s track, so make sure your selection hits the ball a long way, and don’t worry too much if he doesn’t know where it’s going to land!
