A new Pete Dye-designed course, situated on 250 acres across the Mississippi River from New Orleans. The course is relatively flat with large ‘waste’ (large sandy areas with rocks and vegetation in) bunkers and man-made water features. There is a massive ‘skyscraper’ bunker on the left side of the 18th fairway. This hole was recently shortened due to concerns over playability - it’s now a more modest 589 yards - but it’s still a risky shot going for the green in two. The greens are Bermuda.
In 2006, the TPC of Louisiana became the host course for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, formerly the HP Classic of New Orleans.
