Tiger Woods claimed his first PGA Tour title since 2009 when winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill.

Tiger Woods won the Arnold Palmer Invitational title on Sunday, beating Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell by five shots at Bay Hill and the former world number has now turned his attention to the upcoming US Masters.

The 36-year-old had been without a PGA Tour title since 2009 but he put in a vintage performance over the four days at Bay Hill to run away from the field. His final round of 70 was the lowest of any of the last 16 pairings and that was enough to give him a five shot win with McDowell unable to keep pace with the 14 times major champion.

"It does feel good," said Woods after his first PGA Tour win for 923 days.

"It feels really good. It's been a lot of hard work. I'm so thankful for a lot of people helping me out along the way. They all know who they are. It's been tough."

Woods is now up to sixth in the world rankings and the American has immediately set his sights on the 2012 Masters, which takes place from April 5-8.

"I'm excited about the Masters," added Woods, who has already won four times at Augusta National.

"It's always fun to play there and I'm looking forward to going to Augusta with the momentum I've built here."
