Wyndham Championship 1st round tee times - Webb Simpson out at 12:40 BST

US Open champion Webb Simpson is the title-holder at this week’s PGA Tour event, the Wyndham Championship, and will start the defence of his crown at 12:40 BST on Thursday from the 10th tee.

Simpson, who won by three shots in 2011, plays the first two rounds in the company of US Ryder Cup team captain Davis Love III and Carl Pettersson, who tied for third behind runaway winner Rory McIlroy in the US PGA Championship.

Love III is sure to be keeping a close eye on Simpson’s game at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina with him being one of the eight players who have qualified for the biennial match against Europe at Medinah near Chicago next month.

Simpson is the 14/1 second favourite with BetVictor behind 12/1 market leader Jason Dufner, who is seeking a third PGA Tour victory this year.
