United States captain Davis Love III has four debutants in his team to face Europe at Medinah from September 28-30, two of whom are Major champions.

Simpson clinched his place in the 39th staging of the biennial event with his US Open victory in San Francisco this year, while Keegan Bradley won the 2011 US PGA Championship and supplemented that success by capturing the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational title last month.

However, it is Jason Dufner with whom Simpson is vying for favouritism in the Top Debutant betting.

Beaten in a play-off by Bradley at the US PGA, Dufner claimed his first two PGA Tour triumphs in the space of three appearances this year and also has six other top-10 finishes to his credit during a fantastic 2012 campaign.

The fourth American debutant in this year’s Ryder Cup is wild-card pick Brandt Snedeker, who has done enough to earn the nod ahead of Hunter Mahan and Rickie Fowler even though they had played in the event previously.

Snedeker, winner of the Farmers Insurance Open in January, has had five other top-10 finishes in 2012 and was selected by Love III on account of his excellent putting.

The only European debutant this time is Nicolas Colsaerts, the first Belgian to play in the Ryder Cup who is also a wild-card having just missed out on automatic qualification.
