Bet Victor pushed Rory McIlroy out to 9/1 for the Masters this morning as part of their guarantee to try to be top or joint top price on all 96 golfers teeing up in Augusta.

The Northern Irishman will play his opening two rounds at Augusta with 2009 champion Angel Cabrera and American Bubba Watson. McIlroy played with Cabrera during his infamous collapse in 2011 when he blew a four shot lead by shooting a final round of 80. 

The 22-year-old has, however, been back on the course at Augusta and has now put last year's disaster behind him.

"It was the first time I'd been on the course since last year and the first time I'd been on the 10th," said the world number two.

"Playing the 10th brings back memories, but once you get it out of the way it's fine and you just concentrate on the week."

Of the 10th hole, where he drove his tee shot into the area near the cabins, effectively ending his title challenge, he added: "I said at the news conference that I didn't realise how close to tee-box those cabins were. I thought they were a lot further down the fairway. It's nice to be able to laugh about it."
